“Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash yesterday. It’s one of the rare stories that may mean less than first appears. The question everyone’s asking is, Is this Israel? I doubt it—because this may not mean much.
The Iranian president is a figurehead with little real power. The power lies with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Some are hoping this could destabilize Iran enough to start a revolution. But Khamenai still has solid control of the country—thanks in part to United States President Barack Obama, who repeatedly steadied his regime whenever it seemed like it could fall. I don’t see much point in Israel carrying out a high-profile targeted assassination that would generate a lot of anger, but not change much.
The model of helicopter carrying the president was first used in 1971. So Iran was using an aging fleet of helicopters, with restricted access to spare parts due to sanctions—so a crash seems the likelier option.
Raisi was an evil man who earned the nickname “the Butcher of Tehran.” He helped purge thousands of Iranian dissidents in the 1980s and continued his harsh crackdown on political opponents, and freedom in general, during his time as president.
But he’s one of many people in the Iranian government with these views. We don’t know everything about Raisi’s death yet, or about how it will impact Iran. But in the long run, expect its pushy foreign policy to continue.
The U.S. knows where Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7 attacks, is hiding, but it won’t tell Israel, according to media reports. It is using his location as a bargaining chip to stop Israel from going into Rafah and continuing the destruction of Hamas. “I am shocked and sickened by reports that the U.S. is withholding from Israel vital information on the whereabouts of senior Hamas leaders in Gaza,” tweeted Israel’s former ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren. “Is the administration still our ally?”
America’s refusal to share crucial intelligence with Israel raises questions about how much the U.S. knew but didn’t share in the run-up to October 7—as Lee Smith pointed out in his article “Sinwar in Exchange for Rafah.”
Now America seems desperate to preserve Hamas. “With the White House all out of sticks, it had no other option but to offer Jerusalem a carrot, Sinwar,” wrote Smith. He stated:
If Israel finishes off Hamas, the Biden administration’s efforts to complete Obama’s Middle East security architecture will collapse. From that perspective, Team Biden prefers to sacrifice Sinwar and save Obama’s most important strategic initiative, which aims to override the traditional U.S.-led order of the Middle East and give birth to a new and unholy anatomy, tying America to an anti-American terror-state that embodies Jew hatred.”

Three quarters of Americans are worried that artificial intelligence will affect the outcome of the 2024 United States presidential election, according to a new survey conducted by Elon University in North Carolina. The survey polled 1,020 adults ages 18 and older across the U.S. and found that 78 percent of respondents fear AI will be abused to influence the election. Yet some of the efforts tech companies are taking to combat the AI threat might make it worse.
On April 9, more than 200 organizations, researchers and journalists published a letter calling on Big Tech to “increase platform-integrity efforts to protect democracy in 2024.” Specifically, these 200 signatories want Big Tech to promote factual content, censor news stories about election theft in 2020, and prohibit the use of deepfakes in political advertisements. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian died in a helicopter crash yesterday. The two had just concluded a visit to neighboring Azerbaijan when the helicopter carrying them crashed in mountainous terrain amid heavy fog in eastern Iran.
First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber is now interim president and has to organize elections for a permanent replacement within 50 days of Raisi’s death.
Will this change anything? Despite the title, the president doesn’t set policy; he essentially serves as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s chief enforcer. Khamenei is still in charge. Whoever replaces Raisi will still follow the ayatollah’s lead.
But Raisi was close to the 85-year-old Khamenei, and many thought Khamenei was grooming him to succeed as supreme leader.
What does this mean for the Middle East? Many of the region’s most notorious terror groups, including Hamas in Gaza and the Houthis in Yemen, depend on Iran for leadership and sponsorship of money and weapons. Their ultimate paymaster is Khamenei, who is still in charge.
But anything that affects Iranian leadership will have some ripple effects on the wars of Iran’s proxies. What the deaths of Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian mean in the long term remains to be seen. But the Trumpet expects Iran to continue leading Islamic terrorism regardless of which man is in charge.

Iran hosted its first visit from an Egyptian foreign minister in 33 years, when Sameh Shoukry attended the funeral of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. The hatred between Iran and Egypt has been one of the most important factors in Middle Eastern politics for several decades—with Iran implicated in the assassination of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in 1981. The two have been steadily moving toward resuming a normal relationship over the last few months, and this is one of the most dramatic signs yet of this changing dynamic. Israel’s security strategy is built around the assumption that it will not face a major threat from Egypt, so any rapprochement is critical for Israel to watch. But, as Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry discussed in last week’s Key of David episode, the implications go much further.”

Tensions between Europe and Russia continue to rise. On Tuesday, Russia practiced using smaller, tactical nuclear weapons. Then on Wednesday, France test-launched a nuclear-capable missile. I wrote to you earlier in the week about Russia unilaterally changing its maritime border with Finland and Lithuania. Now it has removed navigation buoys in its river border with Estonia. Russia’s Navy is carrying out exercises in the Atlantic. And Russian President Vladimir Putin is purging top-level military officials—perhaps rooting out corruption to create a more capable fighting machine. Fear of Russia is already prompting a military turnaround in Europe—just check out our latest WorldWatchfor evidence of that. Watch for this to prompt Europe to militarize even further.

We petition for these nations to come under Your Rod of Correction. As we do so we pray Your Scourge would destroy the enemies and their alliances against Great Britain. “As I explain in my new Trumpet cover story, Germany is allying itself with what are called the “moderate” Arabs and Turkey against Iran. But it also has a specific strategy for the Mediterranean.
Germany is closely allied with France, Greece, Spain and Italy and has longstanding relations with Turkey. Through the European Union it also has taken virtual control of the Balkans, Cyprus and Malta. Of course, Germany and its allies already control large parts of the Mediterranean—but the crucial passageways are further south.
That is why Germany is participating in the eunavfor Mediterranean Irini mission, the nato-led maritime security operation Sea Guardian, and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon Maritime Task Force, as well as a nato mission in the Aegean Sea.
As I wrote in that article, “Germany and its European partners have been monitoring these waters for years using hundreds of sailors and a couple of warships. They have ports and military bases close by. They know the sea well and are ready to expand their mission at any time.”
The recent trouble Germany has suffered because of Iran’s proxies attacking Red Sea shipping has drawn German intervention in the Red Sea. But it refused to join the international United States-led mission. Instead, it spearheaded an independent EU naval mission: eunavfor Aspides.
Germany is not about to let Iran control this area!
Germany has a geostrategic vision. You need to understand how thoroughly and for how long Germany has prepared for the battle over the Mediterranean. They failed to conquer this region in World War ii, and they are determined not to make the same mistake again.
The Balkans: In 2003, EU Commission President Romano Prodi said, “[I]n the long run, Balkans belong strictly to the EU.” He said this just after a brutal war in this region and the breakup of Yugoslavia! It was that war that opened up the possibility of EU membership for the Balkan states. It was all by German design.
In 1991, Germany recognized the breakaway Yugoslav republics of Slovenia and Croatia, even though other nato members, including the U.S., strongly opposed it. Why? Because they wanted to control this area—and with it, the Mediterranean.
And how did the West react to Germany’s outrageous actions? They caved in! As the New York Timesreported it, “The Security Council backed away from a confrontation with Germany over Yugoslavia today after Germany’s European allies on the council decided that they did not want a major clash with Bonn [Germany].”
These events led to a civil war in the Balkans, and Germany mobilized natofire power to intervene. This is how Germany conquered the Balkans. (For a detailed explanation, read my free booklet Germany’s Conquest of the Balkans.)
Germany tried to conquer this region twice in the world wars. Look at a map and you see why. Albania’s Adriatic coast provides a gateway to the Mediterranean. For this and other reasons, Albania is a critical military location. Just this past March, natoinaugurated a tactical air base in Albania—its first in the Western Balkans. It is also working on a new nato naval base. Albania is a big fan of the EU, and you can be certain Germany will make use of all these military investments.
Malta: “Malta is the southern pillar of Europe …. I want to see Malta in the EU,” Prodi stated in March 2000. Gunter Verheugen, then European commissioner for enlargement, said that if Malta joined the EU it would “become a gateway. … For Europe, Malta has been described as a springboard to the whole Mediterranean region, and especially to the African and Middle Eastern shores.”
Malta joined the EU in 2004, and Germany got its “springboard” into the Mediterranean!
Cyprus: Cyprus also became an EU member in 2004 and plays a prominently role in Germany taking over the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, it is also close to Jerusalem and much closer to Iran than the rest of Europe is. (Read my November-December 2019 article “Why Germany Conquered Cyprus.”)
Recently, Germany and the EU have used Cyprus as a military base and a means to provide Gaza with humanitarian aid. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said about the aid shipments: “Cyprus has always been a bridge between Europe and the Middle East. And thanks to the Amalthea initiative, it is proving this historical role once again today.”
We have to understand the long-term vision of Germany and EU—a modern incarnation of the Holy Roman Empire. In 2002, Prodi said:
At a time when we are building a new Europe, a Europe that covers the continent, when we are trying to work out new ways for peoples and different cultures to live and work together, when we are creating a new diversity within unity, when the frontiers of Europe are stretching out, we must also develop our strategy towards the regions closest to Europe and, above all, be decisive in our Mediterranean policy. To build the new Europe but neglect the “cradle of Europe,” the Mediterranean, would clearly be a grave mistake.
This is a great world vision they have, just as they had during the time of the Holy Roman Empire. This is why they want to control the Balkans, Malta and Cyprus!
They are gearing up for a spectacular clash with the king of the south and will “come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over” (Daniel 11:40).”

Other nations have been blindsided including Great Britain in the recent agreement to accept a military arms deal with Germany.
This is the harbinger of this prediction and preparation for wars to erupt for a common purpose.

We decree and declare that These powers snd their evil entities and human agents shall be judged and will be chastised by The Rod of Adonai. As these powers and their agents come to make a play for more power for the express purpose of the possession and the domination of the wealth of the nations and the earth we decree they shall be opposed and deposed by The LORD MOST HIGH, who will rule over them with a Rod of Iron. The United Kingdom will hold elections on July 4, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced yesterday. He could have waited until November, so the summer vote caught the nation by surprise. Sunak’s conservatives are badly behind in the polls. It’s hard to see him winning the election, so why not hang on to power for a few more months in the hope that things get better?
The government had some good economic news recently. Inflation fell to 2.3 percent, and the economy started growing again. Perhaps Mr. Sunak wanted to go to the vote as soon as he had some good news. But the turnaround has been too small for families to notice it in their budgets yet.
More worryingly, perhaps the government knows of bad news set to hit before November, which will hurt their chances even more. Perhaps the most convincing reason I’ve heard came from Andrew Neil on the Spectator TV, who said, “I can think of no good reason, other than that Rishi Sunak has had enough and wants out.” He seems likely to lose and sees no reason to hang on as a doomed leader, so he is getting out as soon as he can. It reminds me of Isaiah 3:6-7, which say that events get so bad that “a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand: In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.” It gets so bad that no one wants to be in charge.
That’s a pretty negative note to end on—so instead I’ll conclude by noting that today is the first day of our Celtic Throne tour.”
As Rishi Sunak said yesterday, we’re living “at a time when the world is more dangerous than it has been since the end of the Cold War.”

Commentary: The year Rishi Sunak was elected he was shown on a BBC News reel approaching Downing Street No. 10. Smiling at the camera the PM held up the Red Dispatches Case and it was highlighted and turned green. This may highlight the reason he is leaving in his own timing.
Our Father Who Art in Heaven, We seek Your Victory over darkness at this stage of prophetic history. We know You will have Your Will to rule the nations with a Rod of Iron. We seek Your Deliverance to bring freedom from our own destructions and inventions. Therefore, we humbly submit ourselves to Your Way and Will as we call upon Your Name and Your Hosts of Heaven and seek Your Face to show us the way out from under our oppressors who seek the destruction of the Christian peoples of faith in our nations. We know no human army is able to deliver us. We pray for a Sovereign Act of Your Will to bring our deliverances by The Power of Your Holy Spirit.
Many have gathered to praise and worship, but few congregations have recognised the need to gather and fast and to repent of their sins that have led them to this place of brokenness and lack.
The Nations look for alliances with their foes instead of seeking Your Face and inquiring of Your Spirit how to prevail with Your Wise Strategy. We are guilty of allowing our foes to infiltrate our governments. We are guilty of of self-sufficiency and the belief that we could succeed with pacifying our enemies by accepting their lying agreements and hands in falsehood with their bribes.
We now seek Your forgiveness for our pride and independence from Your Government . We seek mercy and Your Grace as we petition to overturn all pro-abortion laws and other abominable practices which are a stench to You that would provoke Your Wrath. We submit our petition for You to act to gather a true remnant to fast and pray for our nations. We declare our nations will be renowned as Lands of Song and Praise unto The Most High God. We declare we will no longer suffer the brokenness of wars.
We declare our lands will be ruled by Your Rod of Iron and that Your Spirit Will make the Nations prove who they will serve, Jehovah or Mammon.
We decree our nation will return to serve at Your Altar and seek and inquire of Your Spirit to overthrow our oppressors. We declare that their plans will come to nothing and they shall be cut off and be no more in the earth. In The Almighty Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
Let us agree in supplications and with praise of Adonai Elohim for His great plan of the redemption of the nations. Amen.
Let us agree with The Lord and His Words in this prophecy for restoration of the U.K. and Ireland.

We petition for You to impose the government and jurisdiction of Heavenly Zion over these nations of England, Scotland, and Wales and Ireland and The British Isles, The Channel Islands m, The Falklands, Gibraltar and the Nations of The Commonwealth.
We seek restoration and restitution for these Nations to become Sheep Nations of Your Flock to be ruled over by Your Rod of Iron. We seek Your Divine Intervention.
We ask that the hoodwinked politicians be given insight and guidance to resolve to promote candidates of Your Spirit and Right Hand as Jonathan was to David in Israel’s history. We pray the true motives and intentions of these pretenders will be revealed and they will be unmasked who intend to cause Britains to be slaves under their Sha’ria laws and to rob them of their birthright and inheritance.
We ask for a Company of Prophets to be brought to Your Court of Appeal to seek this verdict for deliverance from these enemies. In the Almighty Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
